Major Trade Shakes Up the PBA: Ginebra and Terrafirma execute blockbuster deal

In a stunning move that has sent shockwaves throughout the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA), Barangay Ginebra and Terrafirma have pulled off a blockbuster trade that reshapes both teams’ futures.

Ginebra has parted ways with the high-profile duo of Christian Standhardinger and Stanley Pringle, sending them to Terrafirma in exchange for Isaac Go and Stephen Holt.

The Gin Kings and the Dyip also swapped their first-round picks for tomorrow’s draft with Ginebra now picking third and Terrafirma going 10th.

The duo of Standhardinger, 35, and Pringle, 37, have brought glory to Ginebra for the past three years.

Pringle won three titles with Ginebra, while Standhardinger earned two.

In fact, Standhardinger was the Finals MVP in Ginebra’s 2022-23 Commissioner’s Cup triumph over Bay Area.PBA-Season-45-TNT-vs-Ginebra-Stanley-Pringle Major Trade Shakes Up the PBA: Ginebra and Terrafirma execute blockbuster deal Basketball News PBA - philippine sports news

Pringle, meanwhile, was the Best Player of the Conference during the 2020 Philippine Cup.

Last conference, the 6-foot-8 Filipino-German averaged 21.3 points and 10.5 rebounds per contest.

On the other hand, the Filipino-American guard normed 9.3 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 1.7 assists per game.

Now, they head to Terrafirma, which is moving on from the departure of Javi Gomez de Liano.

With the third pick, the Gin Kings will also presumably get a big man – nabbing either Caelan Tiongson or Kai Ballungay.

Ginebra will now have a younger core with 28-year-old Go and 32-year-old Holt.
